Dominique Surleraux

Dominique has served as the Vice President of Medicinal Chemistry at Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. in Montpellier, France since January 2007. At Idenix, Dominique is responsible for all stages of the drug discovery process from lead optimization to profiling of preclinical candidates. Dominique has had fifteen years of experience working in pharmaceutical research and ten years of experience in infectious diseases. Before joining Idenix, Dominique served as the Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Tibotec Pharmaceuticals and as a Principal Scientist at Janssen Pharmaceutica, both in Belgium.
Mr. Surleraux holds a Masters Degree in Drug Design from Lille University and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Namur University.
Idenix has focused its efforts towards HCV due to the global unmet medical need for this viral disease. It is estimated that more than 170 million people worldwide are chronically infected with HCV.
